    High Output Intercooled Supercharger 525+ to 1300 HP

    Utilizing 8 psi of intercooled boost, a ProCharger System for GT-equipped G8 produces a 50-55% power gain on otherwise stock engines running high quality pump gas. Built around the ProCharger P-1SC-1 supercharger and a dedicated, 8-rib drive, the system comes 100% complete, including the front-mounted air-to-air intercooler, fuel injectors and a hand-held programmer.

    ProCharger 2008 - 09 Pontiac G8 supercharger offerings:

     With its 6.0L V-8 carrying a factory rating of 361 HP and 385 lb-ft of torque, the ProCharger HO Intercooled System produces more than 540 HP with just 7 psi of intercooled boost while running pump gas. Higher boost and power levels are also available for modified engines. This system utilizes the industry leading ProCharger P-1SC-1 supercharger with self-contained oiling, meaning there is no need for external oil lines or oil pan modification. Designed and manufactured in the USA, utilizing a highly-efficient air-to-air intercooler and a dedicated supercharger drive system with an automatic tensioner, this is the most advanced and reliable supercharger system available for the Pontiac G8 GT.

     With reliability, quality and power far superior to other forced-air induction systems, both the Procharger HO Intercooled System and Tuner Kit are excellent ways to add even more power to the world-class performance of the Pontiac G8 GT.

    *HO Intercooled Tuner Kit omits tuning and fuel injectors.

    Brute Speed offers an F-1D and F-1A option in addition to the D-1SC. The F series blowers include the larger open race bypass valve with a steel flange. The standard ProFlow steel flange will have to be removed and the included larger Race valve flange needs to be welded in. 

     Harmonic balancers:The ProCharger kit is designed to work with the 2008 GM balancer, which has three spokes of about 1.5" width. In 2009 GM changed to a balancer whose spokes are approx 0.800" in width, too narrow to work with the crank hardware that comes in the kit. Those of you with 2009's wanting this kit will want to identify which HB you have, especially if your production date is after July 9, 2008 . Reach you hand down there and feel the the spokes, you'll be able to feel if it's the wide one or the narrow one. If you have the narrow one you'll have to swap out the balancer for one for a 2008.

    The D-1X is not shown as an option due to fender well clearance problems. It can be ordered but the wheelwell may require massaging to allow the blower to fit.

     Advanced Design
     The patented SC design eliminates the need for oil lines and punching a hole in the oil pan. Additionally, instead of being forced to utilize heated engine oil or the grease in sealed bearings, SC ProChargers are lubricated with an extremely high quality synthetic oil which is specifically engineered for high speed use, and produces the least frictional heat and parasitic load. The self-contained design not only eliminates the heat that is transferred to a supercharger by engine oil in oil-fed applications, it also avoids the risk of clogged supercharger oil lines, oil drainage problems, or engine oil leakage.     Fuel Mileage and ProCharger…WHAT?!

    A supercharger will decrease the fuel economy of your vehicle, right? WRONG!!

    Although roots superchargers have significant parasitic load and do dramatically decrease fuel economy, centrifugal superchargers (like ProCharger) will yield approximately the same fuel economy as normally aspirated engines under normal throttle conditions. This means that after the installation of a ProCharger intercooled supercharger system, if you drive your vehicle in the same manner as you did before the installation, you should see no drop in fuel economy and in some cases customers with heavier vehicles have actually increased their fuel economy because of less frequent downshifts! However, the purpose of the supercharger is to get more air into the engine…and when you add air you must add fuel. So when you stand on the throttle and that impeller starts force-feeding your motor the air it deserves, your fuel system will allow more fuel in to create gobs of Grandma scaring horsepower. It is during those moments when supercharged vehicles see a drop in fuel economy.

    To explain further, a supercharged engine operates at a much higher power and efficiency level than a naturally aspirated engine. So why, under normal operating conditions, would making an engine more efficient decrease fuel economy?

    The majority of the above data was taken during mostly highway driving on the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour. As you can imagine, fuel mileage was not the main concern of our drivers when cruising along side the amazing cars that grace the Power Tour. The Dodge Charger fuel mileage was recorded on a recent roundtrip from Kansas City to Tampa, FL. Also, keep in mind that the above vehicles are all stock with the exception of the intercooled ProCharger system. Your fuel mileage may vary depending on your vehicle combination and driving habits.
