Featuring a compact billet aluminum bracket and industry leading intercooler design, ProCharger’s CARB legal application for the 2016+ Camaro SS retains the factory airbox and nets gains of 150+ HP (with 7 psi) on an otherwise stock Camaro SS. This best-in-class supercharger system includes the highly efficient P-1SC-1 ProCharger (same durable supercharger as on our standard systems and kits), and an extremely effective, front mounted, air-to-air intercooler that perfectly complements both the size and shape of the opening of the factory grille–with no cutting or trimming required.

Covered by CARB Executive Order (EO) D-365-40 for part number #1GY211-SCI covers the 2016+ Camaro SS HO System, which leads the industry in delivering the largest horsepower gains per psi of boost, with OEM-style fit and finish, ease of installation, and reliable performance. Additional system highlights include a shared 6-rib drive system for the HO system, self-contained supercharger oiling, a handheld tuner, Helical Gears for noise reduction, and a choice of finishes from standard satin, or optional black or polished upgrades.

Tuning included in full systems

Tuning for full systems is included with the 7 psi stock system offering. This comes in the form of a simple-to-use hand held programmer, that also allows the customer to monitor and datalog the cars systems. This handheld programer also comes with the ability for OBD2 code scanning as well. With long-term reliability in mind, these tunes are set up conservatively from the factory to account for fuel variations across the country. As always, more power can be had from the base system with custom tuning from your dealer or tuning shop. 

The tune is designed for Camaro's that are either stock or have a cat back exhaust system. If your Camaro has headers and/or internal engine mods you will need to go with the tuner kit, and have your car tuned.

GM spent a great deal of time on the airflow design of this new Camaro SS, from the new front fascia, to the three front mounted radiators. With this in mind, ProCharger decided intercoolers specifically designed for the Camaros horsepower and cooling needs was in order.

Starting with a fresh core designs, the cross flow section of the intercooler core was increased in size to eliminate pressure drop as much as possible, while retaining cooling capacity. Understanding that customers power levels and goals will vary, ProCharger designed two intercooler models for this HO supercharger system.

HO Intercooler = 432 cubic inches of cooling core
Stage 2 Intercooler = 756 cubic inches of cooling core

Both intercooler options do not require any cooling systems to be removed on this new Camaro. These systems will come with one piece of preformed-silicone charge tubing–from the intercooler to throttle body. This helps create the best airflow possible, and also eliminates any chance of rattles or vibrations caused by metal tubing, in tight spaces (such as around the headlamps). Another added benefit of the silicone hoses around these hot radiators, is the added insulation it provides to the cool air charge inside the tubing.

100% Reversible

ProCharger knows that there is always a chance that someone might eventually sell their Camaro and want to return it to stock. With that in mind, ProCharger engineerings took the time to make sure you can return the car to 100% OEM stock. Nothing on your Camaro will be trimmed/cut/bent or modified in any manner.

Fuel Mileage and ProCharger…WHAT?!

A supercharger will decrease the fuel economy of your vehicle, right? WRONG!!

Although roots superchargers have significant parasitic load and do dramatically decrease fuel economy, centrifugal superchargers (like ProCharger) will yield approximately the same fuel economy as normally aspirated engines under normal throttle conditions. This means that after the installation of a ProCharger intercooled supercharger system, if you drive your vehicle in the same manner as you did before the installation, you should see no drop in fuel economy and in some cases customers with heavier vehicles have actually increased their fuel economy because of less frequent downshifts! However, the purpose of the supercharger is to get more air into the engine…and when you add air you must add fuel. So when you stand on the throttle and that impeller starts force-feeding your motor the air it deserves, your fuel system will allow more fuel in to create gobs of Grandma scaring horsepower. It is during those moments when supercharged vehicles see a drop in fuel economy.

To explain further, a supercharged engine operates at a much higher power and efficiency level than a naturally aspirated engine. So why, under normal operating conditions, would making an engine more efficient decrease fuel economy?

ProCharger has a large and ever changing fleet of test vehicles running the streets and race tracks every year. We use these vehicles to test everything you would expect from a company like ProCharger…durability, aesthetics, noise, drivability, power. What you may not expect is that we also collect fuel mileage data on these test mules. A small snapshot of some of our data is below.

The majority of the above data was taken during mostly highway driving on the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour. As you can imagine, fuel mileage was not the main concern of our drivers when cruising along side the amazing cars that grace the Power Tour. The Dodge Charger fuel mileage was recorded on a recent roundtrip from Kansas City to Tampa, FL. Also, keep in mind that the above vehicles are all stock with the exception of the intercooled ProCharger system. Your fuel mileage may vary depending on your vehicle combination and driving habits.
